:: Student - Worship________________________________________________________________

Worhip is a vital in the community of STS. Through our worship we draw near to God, know Him more intimately, and experince growing harmony in our relation with others. As we experince the fullness and richness of God in worship our spiritual life grows and holiness inlifestyle develops. For this reason STS emphasises both personal devotions as well as community focussed corporate worship.

One of the unique features of STS is diversity. Ethnically, culturally, linguistically we are an amazing mix of God creation called from many different places and churches to learn, serve and teach at STS. Although this rich diversity is a potential blessing it also mean that we have to work hard to ensure the worship and community needs of each individual are met and that each one comes to feel part of the big family of STS.

Worship and community life are inseparable. If worship is neglected the community suffers. If the community is focussed on God in Worship the community is blessed and God's love and power is tangibly at work. Workship necessarily involves our lifestyles and our life experiences. Our daily lives are both empowered by our worship and becomes part of our worship. It is for this reason that the following guide or blueprint is offered to enable us to strengthen the community, the corporate worship life and our personal life here at STS.

Personal Worship
Members of the community are encouraged to have daily personal devotions (Quiet Times) to focus on bible prayer and worship.At other times we can helpfully learn to use spare moments to pray, meditate and practise the presence of God. Praying with others and for others is also strongly encouraged.

  • Mondays - separate Chinese and Malay language liturgical worship with a brief message.
